Ever wonder how big companies who have dozens of smaller businesses survive? Its all about taking excess income from profitable businesses and supplementing that income to smaller businesses you want to grow.

The reason I bring up this topic, is because of my last post, about making adsense sites and list building. I have always known 2 things…

1. If you own just 1 business, you typically might not make the income you want.
2. If you own many businesses, then you need to know how to supplement smaller sites with profits from bigger ones.

Here’s my personal example, and the reason why i’m nagging about supplementing!!

Made 5 adsense sites in early November, its the 16th as I type this article, and 2 of the 5 are making ok money (1 is just killing it!). I’ll give just one hint about the profitable one, it has to do with downloading stuff!

Well, in the past, i’ve always been told to dump adsense sites that didn’t profit somewhat immediately. I mean, all 5 sites were getting pretty decent traffic (article marketing, forum backlinking, etc..), but the one making the most money was in a popular niche that paid higher cpc.

What I did this time was take some of the projected income from the #1 site (since Adsense wont pay me for a little while, however why wait? why cant I just keep that number in my log and account for it later..) and use it to buy some backlinks, and new adsense articles to grow my smaller sites.

Here’s the crazy stuff, so I spent about $10 getting a few dozen backlinks (variation of bookmarks, forum backlinks, and article marketing footer links), and added JUST 2 more articles (spent $10 for that), and I let the site just sit for a week.

Turns out it made a cool $18 that week, and THIS SITE IS BRAND NEW! How much do you think it will earn this MONTH, and next month, and next year!!

I see a lot of affiliate marketing peers who just build & dump a site one after another. Keep working on the smaller, less profitable sites, and you will be sure to see amazing results! This doesn’t mean your golden #1 adsense site shouldnt be worked on.

I’ve been planning my goals for November 2011, and my 2 biggest affiliate marketing goals are to increase my email optin list, and finally run a successful adsense monetized website.

I’ve started with adsense in the beginning, but quickly moved on to other things like ppc, email marketing, and other things but recent events have made me realize that I need to have many different streams of income online, duh!

Well i’ve documented my methods from my first trial adsense sites back in 2009, and i’ve also created an updated blueprint for my new adsense site (in the financial sector) that ill post here in the coming days. First I want to spend some time actually finalizing the details.

Quick note on a few things that will change..

• Using Micro Niche Finder 5 instead of Google Keyword Tool for all keyword research.
• Using WordPress instead of custom made HTML/CSS website.
• Outsourcing all content writing tasks, as opposed to doing it myself in the past, hah!
• Using new link building software to handle backlinking (will publish an extensive review on software when done testing..)
• Using additional tools for traffic like auto commenting plugin.

This is a re-post of a TechCrunch article I read on the 21st that talked about Robert Murdoch selling his once beloved Myspace. My jaw just dropped when I read the full article, leave me a comment and let me know what your afterthought was..

Rupert Murdoch withstood intense grilling at News Corp’s annual shareholder meeting today, which focused largely on the phone-hacking scandal that is causing such an upset in the company’s financials and leadership. But among other things, Murdoch owned up to the debacle that has been Myspace.

“I made a huge mistake,” he said. “We then proceeded to mismanage it in every possible way. All of the people concerned with it are no longer with the company.” Except for himself, of course. The fact that it was a mistake and a mismanaged one at that is not news to the rest of the world, but the unmixed apology for the billion-dollar boondoggle reflects how low recent events have brought the once-proud news giant.

As you no doubt remember, the flatlining social network was sold in June to Specific Media for $35 million, representing a loss of around 94% of the site’s value as bought, and a microscopic portion of the never-realistic $6 billion at which Murdoch once valued the property.

Despite his self-deprecating words, Murdoch was described as looking “a little feisty” by the New York Times, perhaps because he is confident that the company has already shed the requisite amount of blood and profits over its practices and investments. The Hollywood Reporter has collected a number of opinions from analysts and experts, and the consensus seems to be that no immediate actions would be taken, but that clearly the company is in dire need of redirection, and the solution may take some time to formulate.

Yep its been almost a month since my last post, but i’ve been doing an enormous amount of work since then..

October 4th was a huge eye opener, when I got an email from amazon associates about problems with my account, I wont go into details, but I had my biggest money maker (about 80% of my total online income) just put on pause until now. They’re being extremely slow about updating me on the process also, blah!

Since then i’ve really gotten onto email marketing (check out my free pay per click course), and working on pushing more expensive products/services (things $50+) like web hosting services and flat screen tv’s. My method in the beginning was always to push cpa offers that were around $2 and peaking at offers around $10, so I really want to get new insight with these high cost items.

Btw, I said I signed up for email marketing services at Aweber, first month was only $1, and $19 afterwards, but the people at AppSumo setup an awesome deal for $99 for a year of Aweber services (thats almost 50% off, nicee!), so I definitely took advantage of this offer, and you should too.

So far, for the rest of this month, my goals are to get 100 new opt-in’s for my pay per click course (its at 0 right now, just started it a few hours ago!), get 2 review sites up (on different niches), and 3 campaigns for long-term cpa offers that pay $50+ per sale (no leads!).

If you own a WordPress website or blog, you might understand the importance of backing it up often. Two main reasons why this is necessary is that you might want to change your host or your WordPress might unfortunately crash.

There are a couple of backup methods available for WordPress. The WP DBManager is currently one of the leading WordPress backup plugins available. Here’s how to use it.

Installing

1. On the WordPress plugins menu, select the “add new” option.
2. Under the search option, enter “wp dbmanager” in the textbox and click search plugins.

The search results will yield the plugin and a description of its current version. Click on the “install now” button. This will activate the “installing plugin” window where you should now click on “activate plugin” to complete the installation process.

Checking WordPress backup plugin compatibility with host

Before trying to use the WP DBManager plugin, you should check to see if this WordPress backup plugin is compatible with your host. The reason for this is that, if they aren’t compatible, then you won’t be able to back up your WordPress.

1. Click on the “Backup DB” button in the database menu. This starts the checking backup status action which, if on completion presents the message “Excellent. You are good to go.” Then your host and the WordPress backup plugin are compatible.

Backing up your WordPress

At this point it is worth noting that the WP DBManager doesn’t backup files (like images and themes). To back up your database, click on “back up” button on the database menu. If you have a large database and would like to save on space, you should first click on the “yes” button alongside the GZIP backup database file question.

1. To restore your backup, click on the “manage backup db” option under the database menu.
2. Check the select button alongside the backup(s) to be restored and click on the “restore” button.

I’m going to start off the new blog with a quick tutorial on “How to Add Google Analytics to WordPress Site”.  This quick tutorial is catered for beginner bloggers who want to track their website stats progress. EVERYONE who has a website should be tracking their stats! Lets get started..

There are two ways on how to add Google Analytics to WordPress site, one is manual and the other is via an automated plug in. This article will briefly describe both methods. The first thing to realize is that either method is quite simple and you should have little trouble in doing it.

Before doing anything, you firstly need to create an account with Google if you haven’t already done so. Just go to google.com/analytics and hit ‘sign in’ which should be top left and follow the directions.

Now that you have your account set up, sign in and we can firstly deal with the first way on how to add Google Analytics to a WordPress site – manually.

Now go to https://www.google.com/analytics/provision/ and enter your website details in and go through the wizard. After entering various information, you will arrive at a page where you have some code to insert on your website. Simply highlight the code and copy it.

Next, log into your WordPress site and click on ‘Appearance’ on the left hand side. Once this expands, click ‘Editor’.

Now you need a page that loads everytime someone goes to your site, so thats the header.php file will likely be your best bet, so click on this. Now scroll down to the bottom of all the coding within that frame, and just before it says ‘</head>’ place your cursor and paste the copied code in. Then simply hit update file and you’re done.

The even easier way is to add a Google Analytics plugin into your site. To do this, simply go to ‘Plugins’ on the side and search for ‘Google Analytics’. Install the plugin and then go to ‘Settings’ on the left hand side and then select ‘Google Analytics’. It will then ask you for a code beginning with ‘UA’. This code is obtained from your Google Analytics account and will set everything up nicely for you.

So, two simple ways of how to add Google Analytics to your WordPress site. Whichever way you choose, you will from now on have a plethora of data at your fingertips to help you improve your website even more.

This is probably my 3rd time since I bought this domain that i’ve completely started my blog from the beginning, but that’s because I feel like I have no quality posts to save anyways. This time around, things will be a lot different as I have more time to work on the blog and write quality articles.
